eunjung hwang and her fabulous creatures, check her out.

"I believe I have an extraordinary memory. Everything I've beheld in this world has been compiled in a huge, usable mental catalogue of images. I strive for an encyclopedic achievement: I'd like to be a mirror reflecting the cause of all things, being the personification of the world's memory. The world I encounter in my memory is pictorial and cryptic. I run into multifarious images, odd beings, terrors and ghosts there. To reveal the enigma of the memory pictures, I dare to descend into an everlasting image-producing abyss in my memory and explore the undercurrent with a fluoroscopic vision." - Eunjung Hwang
"Beasts ferocious from hunger will swim across rivers:
The greater part of the region will be against the Hister,
The great one will cause it to be dragged in an iron cage,
When the German child will observe nothing."

"THE BULLET THAT WOULD KILL HIM WOULD COME WHIZZING UP FROM THE GORGE BELOW AND PIERCE HIS HEART VIA HIS RECTUM"

the existentialist cowboy's last stand by micheal james rowland

a great canadian (well...quebec anyway) artist katherine huang - i've posted a link for her webpage down with the others, excellent stuff, coz she's canadian, so while we're up this end being dickheads with America and whatnot, canadians are creating great art

ok heres a great artist i find of interest - Eunjung Hwang, who also animates his images and you can check them out if you google him. but also these guys, Sue Dodd has a residency at 200 gertruse st and performs art with her brother. they're hilarious and worth a look, she's got the whole karen O crack whore deal and her brother is a computer nerd, so you can imagine the art they're producing. very coll.

actually...i really like her even though she looks like everyone i hate in melbourne, but she's such a great artist i've fallen in love..with her work

FRIDAY i saw a great show, @ - GERTRUDE CONTEMPORARY ART SPACES FORMALLY KNOWN AS 200 GERTRUDE ST, this is the annual Gertrude studios show and was titled "the air between us" which i think is apt, clever and poetic. i myself would like to be part of these studios but am convinced that it will b impossible until i start wearing vintage cow boots and black jeens, also cool t's and some other "oh i'm a wasting away rock star look" .

NEVER THE LESS THIS SHOW IS FANTASTIC AND I ALMOST WEPT WHEN I HAULED MY WHITE ASS UP THE STAIRS TO THE STUDIO 12 OF STUART RINGHOLT

STUART RINGHOLT IS NOT ONE OF THOSE SAMEY MELBOURNYTE ARTISTS (I'LL PUT UP A PICTURE OF THEM TOMORROW), HE WORKED IN PRAGUE AND CREATES INCREDIBLE ART...AMAZING STUFF REALLY.

THE HUMBLE MINDED WILL PICK UP ON MEXICO TIME
celebrating 13 years of touching

i apoligise but we can't really see here what it says on the body of the model/stencil : so i'll embelish..."he stepped out of a very small human and started off with the general shape he wanted". there you go.
here is the first picture - last year, i was feeling sleepy at the time, the title is : seamless/seemless surface
